John Jones

–

Bessemer City, North Carolina

In the many splendid colors of life, John Jones painted a masterpiece. A man who was not just funny but had an infectious laugh that could light up a room. Compassionate to his core, he had a heart that was as vast as the universe, always ready to love and lend a hand. Remarkably intelligent, John was a smart and insightful man who viewed the world in a unique light. His talent as a plumber was not just a profession, but a testament to his meticulous nature and dedication to perfection.

Born in Gastonia, North Carolina on July 6, 1974, John spent 48 years of his life in Gastonia and Bessemer city plus surrounding areas of North Carolina. He was a man who found his joy in the simple things, a true reflection of the quote by Helen Keller, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart." And the heartbeat of John's life was his family. His significant other, Nikki, was the love of his life and his partner in all things. He always told her she was his soul mate and he would love her till he took his last breath, and that he did! Lilly Grace was the apple of his eye and brought him immense joy. She was the baby girl! Lilly and her Dad, John were very close and though he made many choices that she didn’t like , she would still stand by her Dads side as “His little Girl”,and loved him unconditionally !! He loved each of his children and often talked to Nikki saying he wishes he could make things right in his life again and be able to have his family back together. His oldest daughter Katelene ,spent a lot of time together from birth as she grew older. He use to enjoy and be proud when watching her play soft ball. He was also proud of her graduating high school just as he did. Katelene gave John his only grandchild , Orion Grace. Along with Katelene, he had Ceanna, Khloye, Lilly Grace and Ayden which was his only son! Although he may not have been able to be the best Dad to each of them as he wished , he did Love his children . He also loved his step sons with all his heart and talked about them to Nikki very often as well. He was extremely proud of the boys with there accomplishments in running there own business in plumbing and construction work. Cole Walls and Brandon Walls was also a significant part of his life. John often told Nikki that he loves his sisters Kelly and Shannon and was so worried about there health and such. He also spoke time to time about his brother Tommy and how he wished they could be closer. John was very strong on education, learning, family time , as well as learning about the Bible , which alot of people don’t know but he did study the Bible often. Everyone that knows John, knows that he made a lot of bad choices that brought into his life things that are horrifying to him and to others. But he ask for forgiveness. A few have chose to forgive and some may not! He hoped for forgiveness and wanted to start his life over with Wonderful new Beginnings. Well, he got that. Maybe not the way he was expecting or not the way we wanted but he’s now walking and talking in Heaven and got to see his loved ones that have went on before him. John was preceded in death by his loving mother Patricia Truett and his father Tommy Walters. As well as his moms Love Bunk. And his Granny…John adored his Mother . She loved her baby boy !! He is walking the streets of gold hand in hand with her now!

John's life was full of love, laughter, and warmth. His absence leaves an irreplaceable void, but the memories he left behind will keep his spirit alive. John was not just a man, he was a feeling, a cherished memory, a contagious laughter, a love that knew no bounds, and a soul that touched many. His hearts desire as well as Nikki and Lilly’s and the boys Brandon and Cole was always helping others that couldn’t help their selves at that moment. Homeless people, people that were sick and weary and unable to make it on their own. He enjoyed giving a helping hand to others that needed it. A dollars, 20 dollars if he had it , a good hot meal, a ride, and even sometimes a place to stay when he had it on his own. He has been known to help others just set up tent in his yard. His last wishes was to follow what he believed Gods wants for him was and that’s to start a ministry helping people with traveling to and from drs appointments, detox, church, to the grocery store, ect. And he wanted to read the Bible too and with others that may not be able to do so themselves!

As John always said, We’ve all done, thought, and said bad things " which is all called sin, but Jesus died in our place so we could have a relationship with God and be with him forever. , Because in Romans 3:23 it says for ALL have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. Another quote from the Bible that John would tell Nikki to remember is Proverbs 3:5.6, Trust in the Lord with all thine heart ; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Let's honor his memory by smiling at the good times and remembering the joy he brought into our lives. John was far from perfect but Nikki is asking for love and forgiveness on behalf of John. She has had to be forgiving to him in order to have lived her life and been his best friend even after all. Psalm 23. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his names sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for though art with me; the rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou prepare a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointed my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life : and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Amen
