Jerry Brooks, age 58, passed away on October 20, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, adventure, and memories cherished by those who knew him. Born on January 25, 1966, Jerry lived a life filled with joy and passion.

Jerry’s love for fishing, particularly for carp, was well-known among family and friends. A devoted fan of NASCAR legend Richard Petty, he collected memorabilia that honored his hero’s achievements. His enthusiasm for rock music was equally legendary, with bands like Pantera, Metallica, Ozzy Osbourne, and Mötley Crüe always a staple on his playlist.

The mountains held a special place in Jerry’s heart. He loved taking his beloved wife and grandchildren on weekend trips to spots like Chimney Rock and Cherokee, where he found peace in nature and joy in family moments.

Jerry was married to his dear wife, Jennifer, for over 37 years until her passing. Their bond was one of enduring love, and he carried her memory with him always. He was also preceded in death by his oldest daughter, Jennifer "Dawn" Brooks; his mother, Catherine Ledford; and his brother, Ricky Brooks.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Brittany Hullender, and her husband, Brian Hullender. His grandchildren, Gavin "June Bug" Hullender and Sarah "Sissy" Hullender, were the lights of his life and brought him immense joy. Jerry is also survived by his sister, Darlene Ledford, and his brother, Tom Brooks, who will carry on his memory.

Jerry Brooks will be remembered for his kind heart, love of the outdoors, and devotion to family. May his spirit find rest among the mountains and rivers he so loved.
