Jamie Lynn Barreotis, Lawndale, NC, October 29, 1989 – June 10, 2026

With broken hearts, we announce the passing of Jamie Lynn Barreotis on June 10, 2026, at the age of 36.

Born on October 29, 1989, Jamie lived a life marked by creativity, compassion, and an unwavering love for her family. She had a heart bigger than her beloved home state of South Carolina and never hesitated to help someone in need. Since her passing, many people have reached out to share stories of the kindnesses Jamie extended to them, often quietly and without seeking recognition. These stories have become a testament to the remarkable impact she made on the lives of others.

Jamie loved all kinds of music and expressed herself through her many artistic talents. She played the drums during her high school years and became an accomplished guitarist. In recent years, she had begun developing a talent for tattoo artistry, a craft she enjoyed and approached with passion and creativity.

She was a devoted fan of The Lord of the Rings, Alice in Wonderland, and Harry Potter, finding joy in stories filled with adventure, imagination, and wonder.

Above all else, Jamie loved her husband and children more than anything in the world. They were her greatest source of pride, joy, and purpose. Her love for them was evident in everything she did, and the memories they shared together will be cherished forever.

Jamie is survived by her loving husband, Thomas Barreotis; her children, Kevin Campbell, Jacob Francis, Sophia Dunsmore, and Fiona Dunsmore; her father, Richard Stanley Cross; her brothers, Nathan Cross (Christina) and Thomas Cross (Kourtney); her sister, Sarah Langalis; her uncle, Frank Cross; her brothers-in-law, John (Brittany), Dennis Boersma (Alicia), Todd Boersma (Jordan), Charles Tucker (Chelsea), and Daniel Starcher; her sister-in-law, Brittany Bermundo (James); her nieces and nephews, Jaden, Noah, Kayden, Ivy, Sebastian, Katelynn, Madison, Eli, Isaiah, Nevaeh, Lily, Freyia, Anny, Roman, and Zane; and numerous extended family members, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by her kindness.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Lois Diane Eckles; her brother, Timothy Cross; her sister, Betinna Cross; her stepfather, Marty Boling; her paternal grandparents, Marvin and Katy Cross; her maternal grandparents, Crow and Bunny Eckles; her brother-in-law, Shaye Fenske; her father-in-law, Dinny Dunsmore; and her sisters-in-law, Kitra Dunsmore-Garrett and Carrie Gregg-Ott.

Though her time here was far too short, Jamie's legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched with her kindness, generosity, creativity, and love. Her family finds comfort in knowing that the compassion she shared with others continues to ripple outward through the many hearts she touched.

The family asks that Jamie be remembered not for the circumstances of her death, but for the way she lived: loving deeply, helping freely, creating passionately, and always putting those she loved before herself.
