Jamal Soufiano, Lincolnton, NC September 3, 1994 – July 19, 2026
Jamal Soufiano, 31, passed away on July 19, 2026. He was born on September 3, 1994, in Takoma Park, Maryland, to Natansa Minor and the late Kamarou-Din Soufiano.
Jamal was creative by nature and found ways to express himself through the things he loved. From skateboarding to tattooing, he was drawn to art, individuality, and anything that allowed him to create something of his own. That creativity developed into a true talent as a tattoo artist. Jamal worked at Ink Link Tattoos in Gastonia, where his artistic ability allowed him to leave a little piece of his work behind with every person he tattooed.
More important than his art, however, were the people who were part of Jamal's life. He was a son, father, brother, boyfriend, nephew, godson, friend, and coworker. He was the proud father of three sons, Nazir Soufiano, his oldest and firstborn, and twins Apollo and Azeil Soufiano. His children were an important part of the life and legacy he leaves behind.
Jamal was preceded in death by his father, Kamarou-Din Soufiano, and his grandmother, Rebecca Arrington.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Natansa Minor; his sons, Nazir Soufiano, Apollo Soufiano, and Azeil Soufiano; the mother of his children, Autumn Batman; his brother, Jeremy Minor; his sister-in-law, Carolina Adkins; his girlfriend, Morgan Carnevale; his godmother, Joyce White; his aunts, Samantha Oyewole and Ella Arrington; his uncles, Monsello Arrington, Babatunde Oyewole, Maurice Grant Jr., Lorenzo Arrington, Henry Arrington, and Garland Arrington; along with a host of cousins, extended family members, and friends.
Jamal also leaves behind his coworkers and friends at Ink Link Tattoos in Gastonia, where his talent and creativity became part of the lives of many others.
Though Jamal's life ended far too soon, the art he created, the relationships he formed, and most importantly, the three sons who carry a part of him forward remain as pieces of his story that will continue beyond his lifetime.
May you continue to rest in peace, beloved son.
