Cathy Blain

Cathy Blain, age 70, of Gastonia, North Carolina, passed away on April 20, 2026. She was born on January 24, 1956, in Bessemer City , NC.

Cathy was the most kind-hearted and loving mother and grandmother. She had a giving spirit and would offer anyone the shirt off her back without hesitation. Her love for her family was deep and unwavering—she was truly their world.

While we find comfort in knowing she is now at peace and no longer suffering, she is missed more than words can express. Her presence will be felt in every sunrise and sunset, and she will forever be held close in the hearts and memories of those who loved her.

To her family, she was not just a mother or grandmother—she was “Momma,” and her love will never fade. She was preceded in death by her father, Fred James, and her brother, Eddie James.

Cathy is survived by her loving mother, Margie Helton; her brother, David James; her sister, Tina Howard; her daughters, TeeJay Nantz and Cheryl Martin and husband Eddie; and Cathy's devoted companion of over 20 years, Charles Howard. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren who will continue to carry her love forward.
